EVENT MANAGER

(San Francisco Bay Area and Las Vegas)

JOB DESCRIPTION

POGO Events is seeking an Event Manager to spearhead a division of the Amazing Scavenger Hunt in two new markets – the San Francisco Bay Area and Las Vegas.  POGO Events has been planning scavenger hunt adventures in New York City since 2008 and expanded to San Francisco in 2012.

Primary responsibilities

  • Planning, writing and executing POGO’s roster of events such as “The Amazing Scavenger Hunt”, “Badass Board Game Battles”, “Jukebox Bingo” and “Murder Mystery”.
  • Sales and marketing to new and existing clients for both public and private events.
  • Hiring, training and managing new and current staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and work assignments from a variety of staff.
  • Managing all event details including Venue Research & Procurement.
  • Networking with potential business partners and sponsors to build community ties.
  • Work closely with the owner of POGO Events to set goals and report on reaching milestones.
  • Serve as liaison with vendors on event-related matters.

Job requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of event management for both large (500+ people) and small (10+) events
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Computer literate especially in social media outlets including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.
  • Proficiency in managing a remote staff and vendors.
  • Knowledge of Basecamp and Fareharbor a plus.
  • Outside sales experience.
  • Excellent organization skills and experience with project management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism.

EVENT COORDINATOR

(San Francisco Bay Area, Las Vegas and Portland, OR)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for coordinating POGO Events roster of experiences, including “The Amazing Scavenger Hunt”, “Jukebox Bingo”, “Badass Board Game Battle” and “Murder Mystery”, and ensuring the event runs smoothly.

Primary responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor event timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Secure event space on day of event.
  • Manage correspondence between event manager and client.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including registration and attendee tracking.

Job requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of event management for both large (500+ people) and small (10+) events
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking.
  • Computer literate especially in social media outlets including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.
